Megapiksel's new business development manager: introducing Marcel 👋
👋 Saame tuttavaks – meie uus äriarendusjuht Marcel!
Marcel is a fresh addition to our team, but his presence made itself felt quickly. He isn't just a salesperson — he's someone who looks beyond the numbers, builds connections, and keeps his focus on what actually drives results.
We put Marcel under the microscope to find out what drives him, what his daily rhythm looks like, and what inspires him both at work and in life more broadly.
What's your job title, and what do you actually do?
Töölepingus on kirjas „äriarendusjuht”. Tunnen, et olen selles ametis pigem inimene, kelle käised on üles kääritud: ehitame Megapiksli tiimiga ettevõtete hetkeolukorra ja eesmärkide vahele ärilises mõttes sildu. Sellega anname ettevõttele kontrolli nende turunduse üle.
What were you doing before joining Megapiksel?
Before this, I worked at JCDecaux, which as you may know is an international out-of-home advertising company. I consulted on and created out-of-home campaigns.
What does your typical workday start with?
I usually wake up at 5:45 and spend the first 45 minutes building good habits, mindset, and new knowledge. Every day counts, and by the morning I already know what that day's goal is.
What makes Megapiksel special, in your view?
One of the things that makes joining Megapiksel special is that Hannes, Andreas, and I have been very close friends for over 12 years now. We've watched each other grow and talked through ideas together. Now it's time to bring those ambitions to life together.
What's your superpower at work?
Describing yourself takes some effort. When I left my previous job, former colleagues gave me a couple of books, and one of them had an inscription: "Marcel, this is for you, because you know how to tell real strategy apart from a nice-sounding story, and you always ask the right questions instead of settling for comfortable answers." I think my superpower superpower isn't one specific skill, but a combination of a few strengths. One of them is definitely curiosity, since I want to understand things, discover, and build connections.
A sentence you say every day, or too often?
"Pretty good, actually."
What moment from your time at Megapiksel has stuck with you the most?
Without a doubt, walking into the office for the first time on my first day, when my colleagues greeted me by loudly singing the Estonian national anthem.
If you weren't working in marketing, then…?
I'd do something completely different. I'd be a forester, for example.
Guilty pleasure?
When I fill up my motorcycle in the summer, I do enjoy the smell of gasoline. Let's call it a deep interest in scent marketing, shall we?
